Good News Coming Soon???

We are very excited to share that one of our fellow adoptive families has received travel clearance. They will be going to Vietnam to get their child in less than 2 weeks. We are so excited for them. But we are also excited because we are exactly 3 weeks behind them in the process. When we got the news yesterday that they were getting to go get their beloved child, we immediately pulled out our calendar and started doing calculations. Of course we know that things are different for each family, but IF things go a smoothly as they did for this family we will be holding our little Liam soon.

Next Steps…

We hope to hear early next week that our paperwork has been sent to the International Adoption Department in Hanoi.

Once it is there, it will take about 2-3 weeks before we are notified of final approval and are given a travel date.

We sure can’t wait. Keep praying for us!

What's In A Name?

Riley…Caleb…Garrett…Avery…Liam…Van????

We just couldn’t decide on a name. When we were first matched to our little one, we had been preparing for a girl. So with a girl name already picked out, it was back to the drawing board. At first we figured that we would decide on a name in a few days. But somehow days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months and we still hadn’t agreed. Should we keep his Vietnamese name? Should we change it? Should we incorporate it into his new name? So many things to think about…

BUT, after much debate we have decided. His first name will be Liam (LEE+am), it really has no meaning, but it is Irish and is considered a variant of William (go figure). We liked it because his Vietnamese first name is Lai, and so the names are at least someone similar in spelling. We are then keeping his Vietnamese names as his middle name and of course adding our Family name.

So we are proud to introduce our son for the first time as...

LIAM VAN-LAI DAVIS
