What's In A Name?

Riley…Caleb…Garrett…Avery…Liam…Van????

We just couldn’t decide on a name. When we were first matched to our little one, we had been preparing for a girl. So with a girl name already picked out, it was back to the drawing board. At first we figured that we would decide on a name in a few days. But somehow days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months and we still hadn’t agreed. Should we keep his Vietnamese name? Should we change it? Should we incorporate it into his new name? So many things to think about…

BUT, after much debate we have decided. His first name will be Liam (LEE+am), it really has no meaning, but it is Irish and is considered a variant of William (go figure). We liked it because his Vietnamese first name is Lai, and so the names are at least someone similar in spelling. We are then keeping his Vietnamese names as his middle name and of course adding our Family name.

So we are proud to introduce our son for the first time as...

LIAM VAN-LAI DAVIS

I'm so excited ya'll finally picked a name. It's so funny because every time I talked to Chaunta she would say "We just can't decide." I LOVE the name Liam and LOVe that your keeping his Vietnamese name as middle. "Van-Lai" just goes with Liam. Love it love it.
