We received a FedEx package from our agency today, and enclosed in it was a video tape of our son. We were so excited. It was only about 5 minutes long, but wonderful none the less. It starts out showing his nanny holding him. He is very busy, squirming a lot. She then lays him down and starts talking to him…he then started smiling and giggling. It was great! After that he rolled over, but got mad because there was a pillow behind him. He started fake crying (no tears), and then Jynger (our agency program director) started playing with him…he stopped crying as soon as she started giving him attention. It looks like he is spoiled already. She then stood him up and he started to bounce up and down while holding her hands. He was having a grand time. Then the video stopped…we were so glad to get to see him, but it makes us long for him more than before.
We also heard from our agency today that they are sending our required paper work to the Vietnamese Consulate in San Francisco today. She said that they will take about a week to get it back. Then it will go to Vietnam to meet up with the rest of our paper work. Hopefully we will have all documents logged in with the government by the week of the 12th. After everything is logged, it should be around 3 months before we get to travel.
We started preparing Van's nusery over the weekend, and have made good progress. We will probably be posting pictures on our blog soon. Stay tuned...

Good Morning Vietnam...
It is 9:ooPM in St. Louis right now...which means it is 9:00AM in Vietnam. Good Morning! We recieved a wonderful update today with lots of pictures of our precious Van Lai. The bad news is that they need a few more papers...the good news is that we already have them, so we just need to get them sent to Vietnam this week. Well here are the updated pictures of our son...

Updates...
It has been a while since we last updated this site. Unfortunately, we haven't really gotten much new information over the last few weeks. However, the Vietnam Adoptions Director from our agency is traveling in Vietnam now. She saw Van this week and reported back to us saying that he is healthy and developing appropriately. She also said that the bump on his head is gone. She did take a few photos of him. She is supposed to be returning on Saturday, so we hope to be able to post new pictures of him next week.
We have also been busy gathering new paper work. Much of our documentation is now over 6 months old, so we recently refreshed everything so that we have it on hand if/when they ask for it. It was more of a precaution. So, the wait continues…
This weekend, our biological son Aiden will have his 2nd birthday party. We have been busy preparing for it, but it has made the time go by more quickly.
Please keep praying that Van will be able to come home soon! Look for new photo’s next week!
